Jenny Rayner is an artist and designer from Malvern in Worcestershire. Her illustrative style depicts detailed floral and faunal linework paired with inky washes of colour. Her sculptural work features organic forms, delicate textures and natural materials.
“My attitude to work is playful and expressive. I love to become absorbed in translating intricate, realistic details into my work and to combine or overlay these with imaginative elements. Every piece expresses an idea or tells a story.”
After studying Fine Art at Dundee College and an Open University degree in Humanities, Jenny obtained her MFA Art and Humanities at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design / University of Dundee in 2018.
Her masters work focused on exploring the relationship between human and environment, a subject that is still influential in her artwork and writing. Jenny captures states of connectedness and indeterminacy in her mark making and the expressive application of inks and glazes.
